ACDC/TDA NIGHTHAWKS FALL TO HANSON
The ACDC/TDA Nighthawks hosted the Hanson Beavers on Friday, Sept. 25, for gridiron action. The Nighthawks struggled to get their offense going against a strong Hanson squad, suffering a 40-0 loss on their home field.
LADY THUNDER FALL TO TDA IN THREE SETS
The ACDC Lady Thunder traveled to Tripp on Tuesday, Sept. 22, where they suffered a 0-3 loss to Tripp-Delmont/Armour.Audrey DeHaan led the Lady Thunder at the net with seven kills while adding one block and five digs.

FRANCIS 'FRANK' E. EGGERS
Francis Edward "Frank" Eggers, age 89, went home to be with is Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 13, 2026, after a brief illness. He was born October 2, 1936, in Avon, to Robert and Gladys Eggers. Frank was one of ten siblings and grew up in a large, close-knit family.
GUY R. COOKE, SR.
Guy R. Cooke, Sr., 76, of Marty, died Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were Monday, September 21 at the Marty Community Center. Burial was in the Holy Fellowship Episcopal Cemetery, rural Greenwood.Guy Richard Cooke, Sr.

The Avon 8U Baseball team wrapped up its season in championship fashion by hosting and winning the 8U League Tournament on Saturday, June 27. The young Pirates opened the tournament with a 15-4 victory over Tabor before defeating Parkston 7-2 to advance to the championship game.
