    A devastating storm moved through the Pickstown area on Tuesday, Sept. 1, bringing baseball-size hail that left extensive damage behind. Homes throughout the area were hit hard, with shattered windows and doors along with damaged siding. Vehicles were also damaged by the large hail.

    The Avon 8U Baseball team wrapped up its season in championship fashion by hosting and winning the 8U League Tournament on Saturday, June 27. The young Pirates opened the tournament with a 15-4 victory over Tabor before defeating Parkston 7-2 to advance to the championship game.
