Lindsey (Van Gerpen) Fathke, a 2005 graduate of Avon High School, began her teaching career in the Bon Homme School District in Tabor, where she taught 2nd and 3rd grade for eight years.

On Monday, the Avon Lady Pirates defeated the Freeman Marion Phoenix in softball in a wild cold game at Yankton Sertoma Park.
Applications are currently being accepted for Preschool Enrollment at Avon School District for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants must be four years of age by August 31.

Funeral services for Bryan Cermak, 64, of Marty were held Monday, April 6, at the YST South Gym in Wagner. Burial was in the Wagner Cemetery.
