AUTHENTIC ARTS INVITES YOUNG ARTISTS TO INTERPRET “AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL”
GEDDES — Authentic Arts is inviting young artists from Geddes and surrounding communities to participate in a special Fur Trader Days Youth Art Exhibit inspired by this year’s theme, “ America the Beautiful.”The exhibit is open to artists of all ages and grades, and participation is free.

POST 11 BATTLES THROUGH REGION 4B TOURNAMENT
Wagner’s Post 11 American Junior Legion team hosted the Region 4B Tournament July 27-29. Wagner was up for the first game on Monday as they played the Scotland-Menno-Freeman-Canistota 79ers.
AVON 10U FINISHES 3RD AT VFW STATE TOURNAMENT
The Avon 10U Baseball Team had a successful weekend competing in the VFW 10U State Tournament in Beresford on July 24th, 25th, and 26th. They were in the Charlie Division. They finished pool play 3-0-1 and earned the #1 seed going into bracket play.

5TH ANNUAL ZACHARY TY JOHNSON LEGACY GOLF TOURNAMENT HELD
The 5th Annual Zachary Ty Johnson Legacy Golf Tournament was another tremendous success as 33 teams, totaling 132 golfers, gathered Saturday at the Bon Homme Golf Course to honor Zachary Ty Johnson’s memory while raising funds to continue the Legacy’s mission of giving back to the community.

The Wagner Rotary Club gathered for its regular Wednesday meeting on July 22. President Jeff Doom made his arm vibrate as he whacked the Rotary Bell to bring members to order. Rotary Grace was said and then a delicious roast beef meal by Valley Pump was enjoyed by all.

Austin Heth, 49, died Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Funeral services were Thursday, July 23 at the Greenwood Community Center in Greenwood. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of services.

Georgianne Pravecek, 90, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Good Samaritan Society in Scotland.Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary and wake, Tuesday, August 4, at St. George Catholic Church in Scotland.A Funeral Mass with celebrant Fr. Thi Pham is 10:30 a.m.

')">AVON 8U PIRATES CAPTURE LEAGUE TOURNAMENT TITLE
The Avon 8U Baseball team wrapped up its season in championship fashion by hosting and winning the 8U League Tournament on Saturday, June 27. The young Pirates opened the tournament with a 15-4 victory over Tabor before defeating Parkston 7-2 to advance to the championship game.
