Lindsey (Van Gerpen) Fathke, a 2005 graduate of Avon High School, began her teaching career in the Bon Homme School District in Tabor, where she taught 2nd and 3rd grade for eight years.

Ashlyn Koupal has once again been named the Class A Player of the Year by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association, earning the top honor for the second year in a row.
Celebration of Life services will be held for Ben DeGroot, 44, of Willmar, MN on Saturday April 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Avon. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m.
Chauncey Cletus Blaine, 42, died Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Funeral services were Monday, April 13 at the Marty Community Center.
Funeral services for Bryan Cermak, 64, of Marty were held Monday, April 6, at the YST South Gym in Wagner. Burial was in the Wagner Cemetery.
Matilda P Martin, 82, of Wagner, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Avera Queeen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, due to complications of pneumonia.
