After several months of planning for Sunday, June 9th the stage is finally set for the 4th annual “605 Unity Jam” to be held at the park at Wagner Lake on the west side of Wagner, S.D.. This special day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with an out door non-denominational church service, where everyone is invited to attend. At noon, the “Unity Jam” will begin and is a “jamboree of art and music” with art and craft vendors, food trucks, a wide variety of musical acts and cultural related programing through out the day.

Tonya Urquieta was present representing the Older Adult Resource Network program. She is the Network Coordinator and is available for presentations to various groups and/or individuals to explain the program goals to the people. Her phone number is 832-525-8699 and website is OARN.LssSD.org. Chaplain Don Kotab gave the invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members. Commander Rados then called the meeting to order.

Read moreDavid Woods has been a volunteer firefighter for the Wagner Volunteer Fire Department for the past 11 years. Woods is the current Assistant Chief for the department. This time next year, Woods will be chief of the department. An interesting detail about the Wagner Volunteer Fire Department is that serving as an officer is a six-year commitment starting with the secretary/treasurer position then moving to assistant chief and finally chief, serving two years in each position.
