The library received a $500 grant from GroMore-Too, Grant to be used for work to build a children’s garden at the library. Plans are to use raised beds for growing vegetables the children can prepare to eat fresh or learn the skills of preserving fruits and vegetables for consuming later.

Dementia is a progressive condition that results in decline in cognitive function. People with dementia have increasing difficulties with short term memory, thinking, and reasoning. For family members it can be hard to watch the decline in a loved one who is struggling with dementia. Interacting when someone has dementia can be difficult. The library recently acquired the two books pictured below. These books are very easy to read, and the pictures of the activities are easy to follow as well. They can be checked out for use at home or if you choose you could use them in the backroom/meeting room at the library. Stop in the library during our regular hours to check them out.

Avon Music Department presented their Pops Concert on Thursday, April 24. The High School Choir and 7-12 band students performed, with Mrs. Autumn Schultz directing the choir and Mr. Joseph Sexe directing the band. Matthew Grant was the sound tech.
