Food insecurity has continued to increase in Bon Homme County as those who volunteer with the Feeding SD food distributions have noticed each month, as well as a continued increase in utilization of the Bon Homme and Scotland Food Pantries. As a means to assist those in need, the Bon Homme Food Pantry board provided 247 individuals and families with the ingredients for a Christmas meal. The meals were packed and distributed to the five towns in the county December 6.

Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) officially named Ross Cimpl Interim Athletic Director Friday, December 1st. Cimpl will hold this position until May of2024, giving the university the spring to campaign to find a new full time athletic director.

Andes Central Middle School and High School presented their Christmas Concert December 7th under the direction of Julie Rysavy. The concert choir sung 'Heaven Everywhere', 'On a Silent Night, Long, Long Ago' and 'Holly Jolly Christmas'. The concert band sixth graders presented 'Jingle Bells', 'Wassail March' and 'Jolly Olde St. Nicholas'.
