Trenton Soukup is the 14-yearold son of Troy and Shirely Soukup. His siblings are Cody and Ashley Soukup. He raises cows and has two dogs. Although he worked this summer, his favorite pastime is to hunt.

Mason Johnson is the son of Mark and Samantha Johnson. He is a six year old in Mrs. Dawn Kocmich’s kindergarten class. Johnson has five siblings: Ava, Sydney, Evelyn, Lillian, and his twin brother Gabe. He also has two dogs named Bailey and Lucy.

Congratulations to the Avon Oral Interp Team on their success at the State Oral Interpretation Festival in Huron. Of the seven events, the Avon District qualified six events for the State Festival. The following students received gold medals for receiving a superior rating during the competition. The Avon Team also was awarded a Class B Team Excellence Award for their success at the event.

The Zion Lutheran Youth Group held their annual Vendor Fair this past Sunday Dec. 5th. Above are some of the vendors. Lisa Talsma also took pictures at the event. The Youth Group would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support. They are grateful for the wonderful turnout. Friday, December 3, Lake Andes held their Third Annual Parade of Lights with the theme Winter Wonderland. Following the Parade of Lights was the City Christmas Tree lighting. Their was a Pop-up Christmas Market where they served soup and a Coffee Truck with festive drinks. Kids lined the block to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas and received a goodie bag in return. More photos on page 4. Photos by Jenna Hemenway
