Andes Central hosted an instrumental contest that was supposed to be held at Gregory on Monday February 24th. The contest began at 8:30 a.m. in the school’s library. Families were welcome to attend.

The phone rang, and I answered it because the call was from a nearby community. No big surprise that the caller was obviously not from anywhere near, and the caller was asking for a donation for some organization in which I had no interest. I said, in a kindly tone, “No thank you,” and hung up. They will never end the call. YOU MUST HANG UP.

The Lake Andes Volunteer Fire Department held their annual steak supper during the last weekend of February. Members that received recognition for their dedication to the fire department were Will Bennett who has been with the department for 15 years. Both Eric Schoenfelder and Dave Stimpson were recognized for giving 10 years of service to the department. First year coats were given out to firefighters: Ryan Frederick, Grant Petrik and Jacob Wenzlaff.
