Read moreThe Wagner varsity team jumped out to a 17-13 lead after the first quarter Tuesday night and led 32-24 at the half. The Blackhawks of Sanborn Central Woonsocket came out in an extended 2-1-2 zone late in the first half and stayed in the defense the entire second half and held the Wagner team to 12 points the rest of the game. The Raiders played good defense and kept the game close. The boys trailed by 3 with 8 seconds left but could not get a shot off to try to tie the game. Carlos Galindo scored 11 points for Wagner, Brady Cournoyer scored 10 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked 4 shots, Parker Petry scored 10 points and did not miss a field goal attempt. Preston McFayden scored 9 points and Jesse Zephier added 2 points along with 3 assists. Wagner will take on Chamberlain Friday night at home.
