LINDA CLEMENS

Linda Marie Clemens, 71, of Wagner died Monday, January 26, 2026 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were Friday, January 30, at the United Methodist Church in Wagner. Burial was in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Linda Marie (Broz) Clemens was born on October 6, 1954, to Darrell and Genevieve (McGuire) Broz in Wagner. She grew up in Wagner and graduated from Wagner High School in 1972. Following high school, Linda attended Mitchell Vo-Tech for one year, completing her secretarial studies. From an early age, Linda treasured time spent with her many cousins, especially during holidays filled with laughter and togetherness.
Throughout her working years, Linda held positions at the Food Center, Fort Randall Casino, First Dakota, and other bookkeeping roles, where her strong work ethic and attention to detail were evident to all who worked with her.
On June 3, 1989, Linda married Richard Clemens in Wagner, beginning a life together centered on family, devotion, and shared memories.
Linda was happiest when her family was gathered. She loved capturing moments in photos and eagerly sharing them with others. Labor Day was one of her favorite times of year, marked by traditions and her well-known habit of buying far too many tickets for her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, just to make sure no one missed out. Linda loved flowers and every year bought far too many, fully convinced this would be the year they would all grow. She enjoyed keeping busy, whether learning new things or creating crafts, and though spelling was not her strength, she was rarely without a crossword puzzle close by.
Known for her piercing blue eyes and quick wit, Linda was always up for a laugh. She was fiercely loyal and never hesitated to go to battle for her children and grandchildren. She was also proudly known to take credit for her grandchildren’s successes in life, often with a smile that made it clear how deeply proud she truly was.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her children, Brian (Kay) Schroeder, Tamara (Dean) Moller, and Patrick ( Mackenzie) Clemens; her sisters, Terri (Kevin) Erdmann and Vickie (Jim) Krause; nine grandchildren, Brock (Bailey) Schroeder, Grace Schroeder, Ethan Schroeder, Thea Schroeder, Tristan Olson, Samantha Podzimek, Emma Moller, Paxtyn Moller, Desmond Clemens; one great-grandchild, Sofi VanBallegooyen; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and family friend Paul McGill.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her daughter, Erin.
