AC/DC CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunder Cross Country Runners completed their regular season at the Parkston Invite last Thursday, October 7. Lexi Schoenfelder and Anna DeHaan led the Girls Team finishing in 7th and 9th places while improving their personal season times to 20:38 and 20:40. Seventh Grader, Eilie De-Haan ran her first 5K and took 18th place with a time of 22:18. Sonya Hansum struggled with leg cramps and finished thirty-second. Tony Hansum, who has been working hard to break 20 minutes in a 5K, ran a 20:16 to earn 32nd place in the Boys Varsity.

Fire Prevention/Safety Week was observed this past October 3rd - 9th. This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign was “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety!” It works to educate everyone about the different sounds the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms make.

ROBERT CHRANS

Robert Chrans, 74, of Avon died Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be October 27 at 1 p.m., at the American Legion Hall in Wagner. Burial is in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Avon is in charge of arrangements.
