STATE XC QUALIFIERS

This year AHS had four CrossCountrystatequalifiers: Zander Fathke, Rance Kuhlman, Jack Fathke, and senior John Fathke. They prepared for the competition by getting a lot of sleep, letting loose, stretching, drinking a lot of water, eating good meals, and most importantly, practicing. They were all very excited to have the opportunity to compete at state. Coach Jurrens, along with the boys’ parents, were there to cheer them on. Some of the strategies they usedwere:keepingtheirheads down, staying at an even and steadypacewhengoingup-hill, and saving their energy until the end. If an underclassman wanted to join XC, the athletes suggest working hard, never givingup,andtryingtheirbest.

WAGNER ORAL INTERP TEAM TRAVELS TO LENNOX

Wagner Oral Interp was split on Thursday, October 17, as half the team traveled to Region Cross Country and the other half competed in the Lennox Oral Interp Invitational! Macee Stimpson, Samuel Kafka, and Portlyn Jones all competed in Lennox.

WAGNER COMPETES IN BON HOMME

Wagner competed in the Bon Homme competition on Friday, October 25! All students performed well and came away with some awards, highlighted by Presley Slaba, scoring a Superior Plus in Storytelling, the only competitor that day to do so in that category! With over 200 students competing in the first meet hosted by Bon Homme, Wagner showed what they are made of ! Readers Theater (Presley Slaba, Macee Stimpson, Jackson Rolston, and Taya Stone) scored a Superior. Macee Stimpson & Samuel Kafka scored an excellent for their Duo. Samuel Kafka scored an excellent in his serious. Taya Stone scored an excellent plus in her serious. Jackson Rolston scored an excellent plus in his humor piece!
