AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY CELEBRATES 104 YEARS OF SERVICE

The American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) celebrated its 104th year of service or birthday as its members loving refer to it Friday, November 10th. Although the national organization was formed in 1919, the Wagner American Legion Auxiliary Greer Unit 11 celebrated its 93rd year of service, having signed and dated their charter on April 12, 1930.

WAGNER EARNS THIRD CONSECUTIVE STATE APPEARANCE

The Wagner Lady Red Raiders traveled to Pierre Tuesday, November 7th to face the Mobridge- Pollock Tigers in the SoDak 16 match. It was a hardfought battle between both programs. Wagner came out strong in the 5th set and didn’t look back winning with scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 22-25, and 15-7 to earn their way back to the state tournament for the third year in a row.

It was a chain of command that brought Rotarian Craig Krsnak to the President’s position on Wednesday, November 8th. The President, President Elect, and Past President were all absent for the day’s meeting, so Krsnak rang the bell quite well on his first try.

NATIONAL INDIAN TACO CHAMPION CROWNED

Staff from Four Directions Restaurant traveled to Pawhuska, OK October 7th to compete in the National Indian Taco Championships and returned victorious. There will be a celebration of the win at the Four Directions Restaurant November 18. The winning chefs will be recognized and in honor of the tremendous victory, we’re bring back $5.00 Indian tacos.

EMMA YOST - DWU TIGER OF THE WEEK

Emma Yost, 2023 Wagner Community School (WCS) graduate and stand-out athlete, wasted no time making a big impression on the Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) fans. The first basketball game of her freshman season with the Tigers, Yost scored 22 points and had 4 rebounds helping to lead her team to their first win of the season against Valley City State of ND with a score of 86-55. She shot 61.6% (8 of 13) from the field and was 6 of 9 from the free throw line. Emma’s performance earned her DWU Women’s Tiger of the Week the week of November 6th.
