China’s Communist government hates America. That may seem overly harsh or simple – but it’s a fact. They want to be the strongest nation on earth, and they see America standing in their way. Unfortunately, we have a President in Washington who is not taking this threat seriously. If he won’t protect the American people from this very real and growing threat, then states need to step up and do what we can.

Lake Andes native Cayla Nelson is having an outstanding year. The 17-year-old was crowned National American Miss South Dakota for 2022 this past summer and just returned from competition in Orlando, Florida.

The Avon Sweet Clovers 4-H club met December 4, 2022. VicePresidentCarmindycalledthemeetingtoorder.Hailey led the flag pledges. 12 members were present. Secretary's report was given by Rilyn. Treasure's report was given by Landon.Twopoinsettiasweredonatedtothe1stPresbyterian church. 14 tie blankets were made by the club to be given to Our Home in Parkston. Christmas cards were written to be senttotheVeteran'shospitalinSiouxFalls.Demonstrations were done by Rilyn and Landon. A Christmas party with games, gifts and food was enjoyed following the meeting. Next meeting is set for Jan 8, 2023 at 6:00 pm.
