On Monday morning, March 28th, Tom, my son-in-law, and I headed to Genoa, Wisconsin, a very small town on the east bank of the Mississippi River. Genoa lies 17 miles south of La Crosse, just above Lock and Dam #8. We were going to fish from the Clements Fishing Barge as reports indicated that the perch were hitting. It would be a totally new experience for both of us.

Read moreLake Andes Fire Department sent a couple firefighters to the State Fire Fighter 1 and 2 training and certification hosted by the Wagner Fire Department at the Wagner Fire House. They started January 3rd and finished last Saturday. It was most Tuesday and Thursday nights and most Saturdays. The main instructor was Ron Maeschen from Parkston Fire Department. Graduates include: Avon Fire Department - Casey Sassaman and Julia Sassaman, Dante Fire Department - Christopher Doom and Michael VanDuysen II, Delmont Fire Department - Nathan Lagg, Lake Andes Fire Department - Eric Schoenfielder and Alan Blackburn, Parkston Fire Department - Jacob Moege, Andrew Ripp, Kent A.
