The Red Raider boys lost a heart breaker to the Hanson boys on Tuesday night. The score was tied 14-14 after the first period and Wagner trailed 23-25 at the half. The Red Raiders trailed by 1, 40-41 heading into the fourth quarter. Hanson led 52-50 with 1 minute left, Wagner had the ball 3 times and could not tie or take the lead. Dustin Honomichl scored 21 points for Wagner, Toby Zephier added 13. Chris Nelson scored 9, Ted Slaba 5 and Matt Link 2. Wagner was out rebounded 36-29.

Hanson exploded for 11 points in the fourth period, the Red Raiders struggled scoring and put up 4 points. Braxton Knudsen and Carter Cournoyer each scored 6 points, Treyson Zephier and Parker Petry each scored 5, Joey Couroyer and Christian Doom each scored 2 and Gabe Houseman scored 1 point.

Wagner played better defense in the third period and expanded their lead to 62-44 heading into the final period. The Red Raiders scored a season high 84 points and won the game 84-57. Honomichl broke the school record by 2 points putting 21 of his 38 in the first half. Dusitn also led the team with 14 rebounds. Chris Nelson scored 13 points and 4 steals, Toby Zephier added 10 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Matt Link and Ted Slaba each scored 6 points, Caleb Zephier scored 3 and Preston McFayden 2.

Coach Michael Koupal was honored on his 200th win Saturday with the Lady Raiders. The team members and family members joined in the celebration after their big win over the Avon Pirates for cake and refreshments.
