Loretta Knodel will be directing her fourth one-act play this year. Over the last few weeks, the volleyball team has had some tough competition against some very good teams.The team traveled to Centerville on October 14. Coach Cameron said, “The first two sets went very well. The girls are getting comfortable with their new rotation. They did a good job executing new plays. They passed and served well. The attackers had some nice sets to finish at the net.” The third and fourth set were a bit different. Cameron stated, “The girls came out a little too relaxed, and Centervile came out ready to play. In the fourth set it was challenging to get our momentum back, but we ended up winning the match in a close fourth set.”

On October 3, the Avon High School choir visited Luxury 5 movie theater in Mitchell to watch Dear Evan Hansen, a musical turned movie. "I wanted to take my choir kids to Mitchell to see this movie because they've been working hard to fundraise during their time in the department, and I really enjoy the soundtrack,” said choir director Autumn Schultz.

On Thursday, October 14th the Lady Pirates (12-4) traveled to Centerville where they defeated the Tornadoes. They pulled away in all three sets in 3 sets 17-25, 19- 25 & 23-25.

The Avon Pirates (8-0) hosted the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots on Friday, October 15th. The Pirates fought a close game to the end and came away with the 30-28 victory.
