WORKING ON THE WHEEL OF PROGRESS: A BERD SPOKES INTERNSHIP

Whether you’re an avid cyclist or not, most of us have significant memories around riding a bike. Wayde Charging Hawk, a mechanical engineering major at the University of St. Thomas, fondly remembers the times he spent biking with his grandfather. And Allison Horner, the CTO of Berd Spokes, is currently teaching her five-year-old how ride and is looking forward to putting their product on her son’s wheels.

The Bon Homme Community Choir is making final preparations for the 2021 Easter Cantata Performances. This year’s cantata is comprised of songs from past cantatas and new contemporary music. Our message is that of “Hope”. In the midst of our struggles and the storms of life, we will overcome. We can have Triumphant Hope, Open our eyes and see the relief... the Victory...the HOPE, that in the end, God does indeed win. Hallelujah, He is Risen.

BOYS BASKETBALL SEASON WRAPS UP

The Wagner boys basketball team qualified for the SODak 16 this season. They lost the state qualifying game to the eventual state A runner up, Sioux Valley. The Red Raiders finished with 11 wins and 11 losses. The team broke some team records that date back the last 11 seasons. The boys made 138 three pointers, shot 50% from two point, grabbed 717 rebounds, had 515 defensive rebounds and finished with 214 steals. Individual season records that were set were: Toby Zephier who shot 44% from three and Nolan Carda had 73 offensive rebounds. Career records that were set were: Jaden Peters games played - he finished his career playing in 91 games, Nolan Carda finished his career averaging 13 rebounds per game; Jaden Peters also set career records in assists with 268 and assists per game with 2.9, and Jaden finished on top of the list for charges taken in a career with 17. Nolan Carda scored 523 points in his career which is 5th all time, Nolan finished third all time in field goal percentage, shooting 55%. Nolan finished number 4 all time in 2 point baskets made with 210 and fourth in two pointers attempted with 373. Nolan shot the second most free throws, 208, had the second most offensive rebounds 140, and third most total rebounds 352. Nolan finished 5th all time in points per game averaging 13.2. Simon Freier finished his career playing in the 5th most games with 78, Simon finished fourth all time in three pointers made with 57 and finished third all time in attempts with 234. The team broke the single game record for rebounds with 53 against Irene Wakanda and broke the team record for three pointers made with 12 against TDA. Nolan Carda broke the single game record for offensive rebounds with 10 against Irene Wakanda.

WAGNER HIGH SCHOOL THEATER PRESENTS SPRING PLAY

On March 26th- 27th, Wagner High School Theater had audiences roaring with laughter as they presented their spring play, a pair of comedies: Help Desk and Action News! The cast and crew were thrilled to perform for live audiences in their newly renovated theater. The ensemble cast played multiple roles as they dealt with challenging customers who don’t feed their fish, wear socks for 180 days straight, and want the Mafia Help Desk to “take care of” their boyfriend! The tables were flipped as zany Help Desk employees posed as clowns, credit-card-stealing hippies, and IT techs who sell people viruses instead of protection software. In Action News!, 4-year drama award seniors Malcolm and Mikayla Janis played Jim Pickles and Babs Buttlebee, WOMG news anchors for the least accurate, most entertaining reporting you have ever seen. Just ask the grumpy old man, he’ll tell you.
