For the holidays, he loved to dress up in his Santa suit and go anywhere he could to hand out gifts or just put a smile on someone’s face, be it a child or adult. He would even dress up as the Easter Bunny! He always had a plan to make something work. He enjoyed tinkering with motors and getting things to run again, anythingfromaweedeaterto a hot rod riding lawn mower he could pop a wheelie on, or fixing what he, and his best friend, Fred Settje, would break while mud and snow boggin’ or at the truck pulls. Burial was at Danzig Baptist Cemetery, rural Avon with Military honors. Elwood passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Faulkton Area Medical Center Hospital in Faulkton. Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home in Aberdeen was in charge of arrangements.
