I appreciate the people in the Avon area who signed a letter of support for a turn lane on the north side of Avon. This letter was taken to the SD Transportation meeting in Sioux Falls. Hayden Talsma of Avon, who is 16 years old, had the opportunity to travel to Cabo inFebruary2023onaHopeHaven International Ministries distribution trip. His mother, TinaTalsma,wasalsoapartof the volunteer group. Given the opportunity, Hayden went on his first big mission trip and it wasalife-changingexperience to say the least.

Francis Doom, 85, of Wagner, passed away at Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner on July 11, 2023. Funeral mass was held Monday, July 17 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial was in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Vice President Elect, Jordan Weber rang the bell for our July 12th meeting. President Brunsing was away on business. Rotarian/ Pastor Bill Heermann gave thanks for the beautiful day and asked all members to keep the Francis Doom family in their prayers. After the prayer he thanked all members for the sympathy card he received after the death of his mother.
