Avon’s Lady Pirate basketball team had their season opener against the Parkston Lady Trojans on December 6. The Lady Pirates faced defeat at 45-59 after battling the whole game and losing senior Makayla Kopp to knee injury, a torn ACL.

One of their activities was making a Christmas tree out of geometry shapes. They each decorated two shapes, and then tried to piece all of the shapes together to make a Christmas tree.
