In case you don’t know what that is, Rogation Sunday is a day when the church comes together to pray for the health and welfare of our agriculturally based community. The word “rogation” comes from the word “rogare” which means “to ask or request.” It means that we as God’s people recognize that if we are going to have a successful harvest; if we are going to be able to feed ourselves and the world; if we are going to have any chance for a good return on our sowing of seeds we need to ask God for help.
