Old business was discussion on how the Awards Banquet went along with a reminder to sign up for 4-H for the coming year. New business was the motion to purchase poinsettias for the Christmas season. Hailey motioned it with a second by Hoyt. Next meeting is Dec 3, 2023 at 6:00 with a $10 Christmas gift exchange. Motion to adjourn by Colt, seconded by Hailey. After the meeting, we made 9 tie-blankets to give to Our Home in Parkston for Christmas presents.

Read moreThe library move of major materials is complete. The work of sorting, shelving, displaying and enjoying the new site is in the works. The library sign at 17 Park Ave. went up on the 9th and we opened for limited services on November 8th. The staff is adjusting to a new space, and we find the patrons who have visited us are doing so as well. In the near future we hope to host an open house for the community and have tours for the Andes Central student body.
Read moreDecember 1st (Friday) has been set as the date for the annual Christmas Parade and Customer Appreciation Day in Lake Andes. Start now to plan a parade entry! “Christmas” is the theme this year for parade entries. Customer appreciation can be handled by each individual business and as they choose. The annual lighting of the Christmas Tree at the corner of 3rd Ave and Main Street is a highlight of the night. Drawings for hams and turkeys will also take place after the tree lighting. If you have a group that would like to organize a food sale or a craft fair that would be wonderful. Let’s make this the best Christmas Parade and Customer Appreciation Day to date!

During his high school years at Andes Central, Anaias has been involved in basketball, golf and the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program. He has also volunteered his time and helped the Feeding America project. Cheeseburgers with fries is Anaias’ favorite school lunch and his favorite teacher in high school has been Ms. Keizer.
