Read moreWith the basketball season over, Conference Awards were announced for both the boys and girls teams. In the boys’ division, Lincoln Thury (12) and Landon Thury (10) made the Great Plains Conference Team and Eli Watchorn was selected for Honorable Mention. Landon was also selected for the LMVC 2nd team, and Lincoln was selected for the LMVC 3rd team.

Keegan McAdaragh (Republican candidate), Haden Cahoy (Democratic candidate), and Riley Rucktaeschel (Reform candidate) voiced their political parties’ beliefs. There were 26 questions in total with five “zinger” questions. These questions had to be answered off of the candidates’ knowledge about their parties’ beliefs on the subject.
Read moreOn March 21, band director Mataya Larsgaard took selected students from the 7th through 12th band to the Area Band Festival at the Scotland High School. Throughout the day they performed a variety of jazz, lyrical, and march music with a variety of schools such as Viborg-Hurley, Parkston, Menno, Bon Homme, Alcester-Hudson, Armour, Irene-Wakonda, and Scotland.

In October, the class took the ASVAB, the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. According to their website, this is “a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students.”
