Avon High School Commencement was held Sunday, May 11 for the Class of 2025. Science Academic Honors were presented by Superintendent Paul Kuhlman with Remarks by Honor Students Ashley Tolsma and Kaeli Wallinga. The Avon High School Choir, under the direction of Autumn Schultz, sang 'Back Home' and the Processional included songs played by the Avon High School Band under the direction of Joseph Sexe. Read moreApplications are currently being accepted for preschool enrollment at Avon School District for the 2025-2026 school year. Due to planning purposes in the upcoming year, it is essential that all applications be returned by June 1, 2025. The cost for the the program is $130 per month. The program will run Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Four year olds only. Your child must be four years of age by August 31. Please note that a certified copy of birth from the County Register of Deeds, and other forms must be completed and returned with the application. Immunizations, required by SDCL 13-28-7.1, must be current for enrollment in the fall.
Read moreScholarships were awarded to seniors with special recognition and honors. Seniors shared their class flower the pink tulip with their loved ones during the presentation of flowers. A presentation of the class was next and proceeded by an awarding of diplomas presented by Board President, Mike Dangel. The ceremony closed out with a senior slideshow and closing presented by superintendent, Mr. Clint Nelson.
