WAGNER LITTLE LEAGUE IS IN FULL SWING

We have already seen so many gains amongst our many participants, with ages ranging from 7 to age 13. This year many area businesses (Apparel WorX, Commercial State Bank, Community Closet, Dakota Aircare Inc., DK Flooring, Hollmann Apiaries, Kuhlman Construction, Leah Insko Photography, MidTowne Oil & Wash, Payer Angus, Pastor Glenn & Selby Hofer, Peters Funeral Home, Photography by Denelle, Royal Neighbors of America, Scott Doom Contracting, So-Co Pioneer, Stems & Cells, Wagner Building & Supply) donated to the Wagner Little League and the donations were able to purchase new hats, tshirts and much needed equipment! The Wagner little league appreciates your donations, and for supporting our area youth! We also want to extend our thanks to the parents for donating your time, traveling with your kids, and to our volunteer coaches. Your time and dedication to our youth is amazing!

MILLION DOLLAR RAIN

After some above normal temperatures, a much needed rain arrived Friday morning, June 11 as between 1 to 2 inches were reported in the area. Mike and Lisa Cihak's rain gauge in Dante (pictured) measured in at 1 1/2 inches. Let's hope it can continue!

WAGNER TAKES WIN AT AVON

Wagner’s 14U team traveled to Avon June 8 for one game and came away with a 22-5 victory. Preston McFayden was the starting pitcher for Wagner and went 3.2 innings and gave up three runs, none of which were earned. He gave up just one hit while walking four and striking out three. Daniel Soukup would come on to pitch the final 1.1 innings. He gave up two runs, one earned, on one hit and one walk while striking out one.

WAGNER TRAVELS TO MT. VERNON

On Wednesday, June 9, Wagner traveled to Mt. Vernon to take the diamond for two teener games. The 14Us would take the field first with the brothers Cournoyer, Carter and Joey, comprising the battery, with Carter on the mound and Joey behind the dish. Carter once again threw a superb game, but once more came away with the loss due to a lack of offense. He went 4 plus innings giving up one earned run on three hits with one walk and four strikeouts. He gave up a bunt single in the second inning but then promptly picked him off. He would also pick off the man he walked in the fourth inning. In the bottom of the fifth and final inning the lead-off batter doubled to left center and the following batter singled him home to give MVP the 1-0 victory.
