WAGNER HOSTS TYNDALL

On Wednesday, June 9, Wagner traveled to Mt. Vernon to take the diamond for two teener games. WAGNER TRAVELS TO COLOME AND WINNER

This past weekend Wagner’s 16U VFW teener team traveled to Colome and Winner to participate in a tournament. Wagner faced Chamberlain in their first game and it was a quick one as Wagner went down by a score of 3-0. Wagner collected only one hit in the game and that was by Hunter Loeffler. This was in the fifth inning when Wagner mounted its only real threat of the game as Joey Cournoyer walked and Daniel Soukup was plunked by a pitch to reach base along with Loeffler. For a moment it looked like we would plate a run or two as Carlin Hopkins hit a sharp grounder up the middle, but the shortstop made a nice play to force the runner at second. The only other player to reach for Wagner was Corbin Carda on a walk.

WAGNER HOSTS PLATTE FOR TWO CONTESTS

On Monday, June 7, Wagner hosted Platte in two teeners contests. The 14U team got their first win of the season in walk-off fashion as Carter Cournoyer singled home Malakai Segura with the winning run for the 8-7 win. Preston McFayden, Brady Cournoyer, and Segura each had two hits with Segura and Cournoyer each scoring two runs. Cole Bergin, Carter Cournoyer, and Hunter Loeffler each collected one hit.

Dr. Anthony “Tony” Lawrence Hintgen, 52, of Spearfish, SD, passed away June 2, 2021 with his beloved family by his side at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, following a brave battle with cancer.

LAFAYE FRENCH

LaFaye French, 76, of Wagner died Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Wake services were Tuesday at the All Tribes Fellowship Church in Wagner. Funeral services were Thursday, June 10 at the church. Burial was in the Cedar Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
