The Bon Homme County Disaster Mitigation Planning Team has just completed updating the County's disaster mitigation plan. The plan includes a profile and risk assessment of the various natural hazards that affect the county, such as blizzards, tornadoes, flooding, and droughts, and presents a disaster mitigation strategy designed to lessen the impacts of the hazards. The plan is available for public review at the Bon Homme County Emergency Management Office. Comments and suggestions regarding the plan can be sent to the Bon Homme County Emergency Management Office at bhcem@hcinet.net or by calling 605 589-4214.

Wagner Community School held their commencement ceremony Saturday, May 15 at 1:30 p.m. for the Class of 2021. The school is so thankful to all the scholarship donors. The students are very fortunate to have a supportive community. The Wagner High School Native American Education Committee honored all of the seniors for their educational success and presented all seniors with their own personal Star Quilt in honor of their special day. Matthew S. Knudsen, Sr., 64, of Wagner died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Funeral services were Thursday, May 13 at the National Guard Armory in Wagner. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Wagner Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at Wagner Lakeside Motel Thursday, May 13. The motel is under new ownership and management. Members were given tour of some of the rooms and also viewed a meeting room which can be rented for graduation parties, business meetings, etc. The motel has 77 rooms with 72 of these rooms available.
