Read moreKim Wayne Joseph Hakl, born August 21, 1953, peacefully passed away at his home on February 21 in Tripp. Kim was a son to Richard and Delores Hakl of Lake Andes. He attended Lake Andes public school K-12 and graduated with the Class of 1972. He was infatuated with reading everything and enjoyed music, pinball machines and foosball tables, if he wasn’t lending a hand at the Hakl Trucking shop or grandparents’ farms.
Read moreThe Lake Andes Volunteer Fire Department held their annual steak supper during the last weekend of February. Members that received recognition for their dedication to the fire department were Will Bennett who has been with the department for 15 years. Both Eric Schoenfelder and Dave Stimpson were recognized for giving 10 years of service to the department. First year coats were given out to firefighters: Ryan Frederick, Grant Petrik and Jacob Wenzlaff.
