Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Friday, July 22 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. This will continue to be a “drive-thru” distribution. PLEASE NOTE: Proxy pickup (picking up food for someone unable to attend) is allowed with a completed form. Forms are available by contacting Connie Hawks at the Bon Homme Food Pantry in Tyndall or downloading from feedingsouthdakota.org under the programs/mobile food pantry tab. You must bring the completed form with you to the distribution site in order to pick up food for someone other than yourself. You need a new form each time.
Read moreAssumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish Dante and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Wagner held their joint summer religious education program Lumen Christi--Light of Christ June 24th - 28th, 2022 for grade school students. An evening session was held for the junior high and high school students. The parishes enjoyed a potluck and family night on Wednesday and the kids enjoyed the water fight fun on Thursday. Read moreAvon’s 18U Softball Team competed in the Little Missouri Valley League Tournament on Tuesday, July 5 in Avon. In the first round #5 Avon took on #4 Tyndall. Avon jumped out to an early lead and held off Tyndall for an 8-3 victory. Emma Yost lead Avon with 2 homeruns and 4 RBI. Courtney Sees added 2 singles and Lydia Yost had a single. Lydia Yost pitched for Avon, striking out 5.

This year our Kisch family group netted two fish over 25 inches with numerous fish running over 23 inches. How does one explain this?
Read morePresident Bryan Slaba gave the Rotary Bell a solid whack to bring his last meeting to order as President of the club for 2021-2022. It was enough to make this recorder jump which delighted him. Slaba read a prayer to begin the meeting in the absence of any clergy at the meeting. There was one guest, Maesa Dvorak who is working part time at Bechen & Company this summer.
Read moreR&R Excavation (Randy Rysavy) was recently hired by CHS in Wagner to take down some old grain bins. A few of their bins were damaged from the recent wind storms and the decision was made to take down the old bins which were no longer being used. Rysavy hired Northwest Concrete Cutting & Crane Service out of Sioux Falls to bring down their large crane for this project.
