The Red Raiders let a big lead slip away Tuesday night against O’Neill. Wagner led 18-9 after the first period and 29-13 at half time. O’Neill came charging back scoring 33 second half points defeating Wagner 46-39. Parker Petry led the way for Wagner with 14 points, Brady Cournoyer added 11, Christian Doom and Deshawn Sully each scored 4, Braxton Knudsen and Treyson Zephier each scored 3.

8TH GRADE CAREER FAIR HELD

The Wagner Community Memorial Hospital-Avera sponsored an 11th annual 8th Grade Career Fair on Thursday, January 20 at the Wagner National Guard Armory. Partnering with the South Dakota Department of Health, the event also included “Camp Med Lanes”, which featured several different healthcare career choices. The event was coordinated by hospital employee, Connie Kaufman RN, BSN.

Library news

Plans are being finalized for a presentation by Starr Chief Eagle on February 10. Starr will be presenting an informative presentation with fun and educational explanations of Lakota Culture, and an opportunity to learn some Hoop Dancing for the Elementary and again for the Middle/High School at Andes Central. Another presentation will be held for parents/ students/community members beginning at 6:00 p.m. on February 10th at the Andes Central school. Funding for these presentations was obtained by the Lake Andes Carnegie Public Library through a grant from the South Dakota Humanities Council.
