Rapid City hosted the 2023 State FFA Leadership Development Event (LDE) competition. State qualifier, Riata Bultje, her sister, Emery Bultje and FFA advisor, Darren DeNeui, traveled to Rapid City December 3-4 to attend the competition. Riata competed in the Prepared Public Speaking with her presentation about the benefits of incorporating soil health practices into farm work. Although she did not place in the top eight in her event, the three had great experience.

Urinalysis, or testing of the urine, has ancient origins dating back to the time of Hippocrates and beyond. Although we have evolved in our methodology of studying the urine and our understanding of the meaning of its characteristics, we do still rely on urinalysis in making clinical diagnoses frequently in medicine.

TheBonHommeAvonwrestlers traveledtoGregoryforthe Burke/Gregory Invitational. Up to this point they have been wrestling well and training hard which is good to see. In this tournament they allowed unattached wrestlers so we had twenty kids competing on the day. Going in I was looking for them to go out compete and wrestle hard from the beginning of the tournament to the end. These tournaments are long and are a grind at times so it is hard to stay focused but they responded well. At the end of the day they earned themselves a team Championship and should be proud of the way they wrestled as a team. Looking forward the competition is only going to get tougher so they need to keep wrestling hard and keep improving.

At the South Dakota High School Rodeo State Finals in Fort Pierre during June of 2023, Terran Talsma qualified for the Junior World Finals in the steer wrestling event with a best time of 5.2 seconds.
