On Monday, November 13, seven WCS students made their way to Chamberlain to participate in the Region Oral Interpretation Contest, where the team took 1st place! Jennifer Barnett, Trenton Rolston, Jackson Rolston, Presley Slaba, Macee Stimpson, Jessica Barnett, and Taya Stone have practiced, worked hard, and performed their hearts out for the last couple of months preparing for Monday, as they attempted to vie their way to the state competition.

With an overall record of 27-8, it was a great end to a very successful season. The seniors on the volleyball team could not agree more and would like to say a few things to their coaches, teammates, fans and community.

South Dakota life and moved to Chamberlain where she was employed as a secretary with the Eagle-Western Construction Company during construction of the Big Bend Dam. While there, she met her future husband, Russell L. Bywater as he was working for the Corps of Engineers, and they were married on November 10, 1964. Although she was a farm girl at heart, she raised sons Russ Jr. and Brian at several locations while accompanying her husband on his work assignments in Denver, Omaha, Rapid City, and Pickstown. Natalie “Ibobdu Win” E. Medicine Bear, 74, of Lake Andes died Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were Tuesday, November 21 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in the Cedar Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
