FOUR RAIDERS PARTICIPATE IN HARRISBURG

4 Raiders participated in Harrisburg on Saturday, October 8 for a competitive Oral Interp meet, the Harrisburg Tiger Tournament. Jackson Rolston, Presley Slaba, Trenton Rolston, and Macee Stimpson all came home with ribbons after an early morning start.

SPEAKING LYNX TOURNAMENT

On Saturday, October 15, Oral Interp traveled to Brandon Valley for the Speaking Lynx Tournament. After 3 rounds and finals, our Reader's Theatre was awarded 2nd place! Reader's Theater consists of Presley Slaba, Jackson Rolston, Trenton Rolston, Charley Kocer, and Macee Stimpson. Our speakers transform into multiple animals for their rendition of 'Barnyard Slam!' Characters include a spotlight-seeking Yo Mama GOOSE (Presley), a thoughtful quack of a DUCK (Trenton), a moo-nificent COW (Macee), a Stage-HOGger (Jackson), and a limping equine with a chronic Charley-HORSE (Charley). Characters had to transform into many other characters, including a mouse, another horse, a lamb, a turkey, a farmer, a rooster, and a little bird. This hilarious rendition of 'Barnyard Slam' by Dian Curtis Regan has every audience roaring with laughter.

Every day in the clinic or hospital I meet extraordinary caregivers. They are the ones who have gone above and beyond the call of duty; sometimes for years at a time. When you ask them how they do it, they shrug and smile. I am not talking about any doctor, nurse, or therapist. I am referring to those who care for and look after their elderly friends and family members. This can be a spouse, adult child, adult grandchild, neighbor, or even a good friend.

AC/DC CROSS COUNTRY IS STATE BOUND

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunder Cross Country team is state bound after all runners qualified for the State Meet last Wednesday, October 12, in Burke. Everyone finished in the top twenty at the Region Meet and the Girls Team of Anna DeHaan, Lexi Schoenfeilder, and Eilie DeHaan tied with Gregory for the Regional Runner up team with 26 points. Burke won the girls title with 23 points while Freeman Academy/Marion was the boy’s team winner.

AC/DC FALLS TO WAGNER

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian fell to Wagner in three sets on Thursday, October 13th. The set scores were as follows: Mahpiya Irving scored 2 ace serves, 9 digs, 7 set assists and 1 kill; Setter Josie Brouwer had 1 ace serve, 8 digs, 14 set assists and 2 kills; Ona'ka Doren scored an ace, 1 set assist and 5 digs; Claire Johnson scooped up 6 digs and had 2 kills; Abigail Svatos had 3 digs, 1 block and slammed 10 kills; Lori Decora picked up 6 digs; Syrianna NeverMissAShot had 5 digs; ; Madilyn Janis put up 3 blocks and 4 kills. Halle Olson added 3 kills.
