In 2006 we purchase a motor cycle to travel on and we chose to do our traveling on state and county roads so that we had a better chance of seeing the real country and the people who live there. During the past 16 years and 115,000 miles we have met lots of people and noticed a lot about small towns along the way. Without intending to, we began to notice why some communities tend to survive and why others tend to not be able to do the same. The comments that follow relate to “what the road has taught us”.
Read moreOn Wednesday, August 24th the Wagner Boys Golf team traveled to Dakota Dunes in Sioux City to compete at the Dakota Valley Invitational. After a short weather delay the boys played in damp conditions for the early hours of the meet. Scores continue to improve, and the boys are becoming more comfortable playing in a variety of conditions. Wagner individual places include Christian Doom 43rd, Caleb Zephier 47th, and Vince Bechen 47th in the JV standings. The next action is Friday, September 2nd in Mitchell, South Dakota.
Read moreOn Monday, August 22nd the Wagner Boys Golf team traveled to Dell Rapids to take on the Rocky Run golf course. The boys once again battled a competitive field of golfers but gained valuable knowledge about how to read greens and club distance. In the end, Wagner individual places include Christian Doom 94th, Matt Link 96th, Colby Krcil 99th, and Caleb Zephier 104th. The next action is Wednesday, August 24th in Dakota Dunes.
Read moreBoth the JV and Varsity teams traveled to Parkston on Saturday, August 27th. The JV team came home with first place by defeating Parkston (25-17, 28-26), McCook Central/Montrose (25-20, 25-17), Warner (25-23, 20-25, 15-11), and Northwestern (24-26, 25-23, 15-5). The Varsity team went 3-1 defeating Parkston (25-22, 25-12), McCook/ Central/Montrose (25-16, 25-23), and Northwestern (24-26, 25-21, 25-20). Their only loss was to last year’s state B champion Warner (19-25, 17-25) . The girls put up a good fight and enjoyed the challenge from a respected program. Both JV and Varsity teams represented Wagner volleyball well and we are looking forward to an amazing season at all levels.
Read moreThe Wagner Red Raiders traveled to Winner to take on the number one ranked Warriors last Friday night. The Warriors came out on top 52-12. The Raiders continue to improve, but the quantity of good team play needs to become consistent. It is nice to play Winner early in the year to give us taste of what we need to overcome.
Read moreThe Wagner Volleyball team swept the Vermillion Tanagers at all three levels on Thursday, August 25th. It was a great way to start our season and the girls showed they were ready to compete.
