Read moreThis year the Parade of Lights will return to its original route of heading south down Main Street from Custom Touch and then west to the Good Samaritan Center parking lot. The route change is to ensure that the new residents can enjoy the floats. It is exciting for everyone as it marks the first Christmas season for Wagner with the Good Sam residents back home. The general feeling of excitement for their return has been palpable for weeks, with many feeling like this is something of an early Christmas miracle. That feeling is understandable with the widespread closures of nursing homes across the state and the uncertainties that have surrounded the future of long-term care in Wagner over the past three years. The happy ending to the story of the November 8, 2022 Good Samaritan fire is coming to a close this holiday season with a parade to welcome our beloved community members home. We hope that everyone will come out to celebrate and take a moment to thank the members of the Sanford and Good Samaritan team for their work in making this parade of lights just a little brighter.
