City library news. 2-4-26 “Winter Reading Blast” began on Monday, February 2nd at the Lake Andes Public Library. Children’s Book Award nominees for grades K-5 will be available for children to read at the library or have them read to them by library aides. A point value has been assigned to each book and points can be redeemed for various prizes, snacks, craft activities and gift cards or Roblox cards. We have not forgotten our older kids. Grades 6-12 are able to select from a list of authors and their books to choose a reading selection from.

The individuals listed met these requirements for the Fall 2025 semester, organized by program of study. Students marked with an * earned a 4.0 GPA this semester.
Read moreBon Homme Chapter of the Izaak Walton League held its annual membership meeting at the Veterans Building in Tyndall. Kelly Kistner, President of the SD Division of the IWLA, gave the local members an update on the projects they have planned for 2026. The Bon Homme Chapter has 27 members for the year 2026. The Hunt Safety Class, Tobin Award, Trap Shooting and several other items were on the agenda. The next club meeting will be in April to set the 2026 trap shooting schedule.
Read moreWednesday, January 14, President Jamie Soukup arrived at the Rotary building with the luncheon from Valley Pump and Rotarians got right to work eating a meal of salad, soup, and roast beef. We all come for the meeting at various times so our Rotary Grace is not offered up until it is time for the business meeting. Song leader Rachel Woods relied on one of our old standards “Smile.” We were a little off key but did well.
