GUEST SPEAKERS Andes Central School held their annual Veteran's Day Program on Tuesday, November 11th in their school auditorium. Students honored Veteran's with poetry, instrumental and choral presentations. Marvin Gall and Cole Johnson were featured guest speakers.

The Wagner volleyball team traveled to Chamberlain to take on the Winner Warriors in the SoDak 16 matchup. The Red Raiders came out swinging and battled every set finishing strong with a 3-1 win with scores of 25-21, 18-25, 25-16, and 25-13.

Area veterans were recognized at a community Veterans Day program on Tuesday, November 11, in the Wagner School gym. Veterans in attendance introduced themselves and where and when they served. Music was provided by the All State quartets, 5th and 6th grade, 7th and 8th grade, and high school choruses. The event closed with the playing of Taps by Carlos Galindo and Connor Gabel.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is one of the leading causes of vision loss among adults over 65. This condition affects the back of the eye where light is processed by macula. The macula is the part of the retina providing sharp, detailed vision needed for reading, driving, and recognizing faces. Two categories of macular degeneration are “dry” and “wet”. Following the recent resignation of Mayor Alyssa Mathis, Wagner City Council President Brenda Jaton has stepped up to serve as Acting Mayor until the next election in 2026. Jaton was officially sworn in as mayor during the Wagner City Council meeting held Monday, November 4th.

President Jamie Soukup welcomed the Wagner Rotarians to a weekly meeting on Wednesday, November 5th which seemed much like an early fall meeting with the weather being sunny and warm! The harvest is almost completed with a huge pile of corn evidence of the weather the area experienced this past growing season.

Mrs. Dawn Kitchenmaster teaches Kindergarten at Andes Central School. She grew up on a farm outside of Hawarden, Iowa. After graduating high school she attended college in Orange City, Iowa at Northwestern College. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Minor in Elementary Music.
