The Wagner JV team defeated Gregory on Tuesday night for their 5th win a row. Wagner led 16-6 after the first period> The Red Raiders only allowed 2 points in each of the next 2 quarters to take a 28-10 lead into the fourth quarter. Wagner won the game by a final score of 36-19. Preston McFayden led the team with 9 points. Braxton Knudsen scored 7, Bray Cournoyer 6 Hunter Lhotak 5, Joey Cournoyer 4, Jesse Zephier and Deshawn Sully each scored 2 and Parker Petry had 1 point. The Wagner JV is now 5-1.
Read moreThe Raiders competed on Thursday, January 12th in a make-up dual against Vermillion that was originally scheduled for December 15th. Wagner capped its first dual victory win of the season 48-33. The week of January 14th was the first full week of practice and competition that we have had since the week of December 17th. Some of the short weeks were due to Christmas break, but mostly because of the poor weather conditions. The Raiders finished the weekend in Tri-Valley with tournament action where they finished in ninth place as a team. The month of January will be packed with competitions, starting Tuesday, January 17th in White Lake with duals against Kimball/White Lake/Platte/Geddes, Faulkton, and McCook. We’ll close the week in Winner at the Winner Invitational on Saturday.

Theyneedtoworkonfinishing periods,finishingmatchesand to always keep scoring points. Moving forward going into the busy part of the season they need to stay focused and keep working hard. Competition is only going to get tougher.
