On Monday, August 22nd the Wagner Boys Golf team traveled to Dell Rapids to take on the Rocky Run golf course. The boys once again battled a competitive field of golfers but gained valuable knowledge about how to read greens and club distance. In the end, Wagner individual places include Christian Doom 94th, Matt Link 96th, Colby Krcil 99th, and Caleb Zephier 104th. The next action is Wednesday, August 24th in Dakota Dunes.

After a short weather delay the boys played in damp conditions for the early hours of the meet. Scores continue to improve, and the boys are becoming more comfortable playing in a variety of conditions. Wagner individual places include Christian Doom 43rd, Caleb Zephier 47th, and Vince Bechen 47th in the JV standings. The next action is Friday, September 2nd in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Wagner Red Raiders football team traveled to Miller to take on the Rustlers last Friday night. It was a beautiful fall night for an opening to the 2022 football season. Wagner jumped out to an early lead with a 42-yard touchdown pass from Chris Nelson to Glenn Cournoyer. It was a great route great pass and great protection. A collective team effort, which needs to be duplicated consistently to keep us moving in the right direction. The second offensive touchdown was set-up by a great defensive play by Riley Roberts. Riley sat back in coverage, read the quarterbacks eyes, broke on the ball, and set the offense up in great field position inside Millers 15-yard line. The offense scored again on an eleven-yard run by Chris Nelson. The 2-point conversion was good with a completion from Chris to Riley.

On Monday, August 15th the Wagner boys’ varsity golf team competed in the West Central Early Bird Invitational. In the first competitive event of the year the boys battled the cold and rain for most of the day. The boys competed against some of the best golfers in class A and finished as follows.
