Read moreThe Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunder Cross Country Team ran in the Gregory Meet last Tuesday, August 30. The Girls Varsity Team of Anna DeHaan, Lexi Schoenfelder, and Eilie DeHaan placed second in the team scores with 19 points compared to the first place team of Chamberlain with 6. Platte-Geddes was third with 35 points. All three girls medaled and placed in the top ten. Anna was 6th in 22:57, Lexi was close behind in 7th (23:22), and Eilie grabbed 10th (24:06).
Read moreThe 2022 Wagner Cross Country Season started off with a bang! The word 'bang' is one that can be taken 100% literally. Yes, it was a crazy weather morning at the opening season Mitchell Cross Country Meet on Saturday, August 27th. The Girl's JV got to start their 3K race on time as this was before the thunder and lightning started. However, by the time the last runners from that race were coming in, the weather took a turn forcing a weather delay. In hopes to continue the race, they planned on running in 30 minutes once the weather had passed. But the weather was not agreeable, and the teams had to wait for three consecutive weather delays.

The Raiders continue to improve, but the quantity of good team play needs to become consistent. It is nice to play Winner early in the year to give us taste of what we need to overcome.

Read moreBoth the JV and Varsity teams traveled to Parkston on Saturday, August 27th. The JV team came home with first place by defeating Parkston (25-17, 28-26), McCook Central/Montrose (25-20, 25-17), Warner (25-23, 20-25, 15-11), and Northwestern (24-26, 25-23, 15-5). The Varsity team went 3-1 defeating Parkston (25-22, 25-12), McCook/ Central/Montrose (25-16, 25-23), and Northwestern (24-26, 25-21, 25-20). Their only loss was to last year’s state B champion Warner (19-25, 17-25) . The girls put up a good fight and enjoyed the challenge from a respected program. Both JV and Varsity teams represented Wagner volleyball well and we are looking forward to an amazing season at all levels.
