Read moreAvon softball concluded the 2024 season by winning the Gary Pepper Combined OverallAwardforthesecond consecutive year. The Gary Pepper Award is named in honor of longtime Scotland resident and athletic booster Gary Pepper who passed away this spring. Gary was instrumental in organizing the Little Missouri Valley Softball League during its inception. The award takes into consideration regular season finish, postseason finish, and sportsmanship in all three age divisions: 10U, 14U and 18U. Teams from 15 different towns competed in the LMVL this summer. This seasonAvonfinishedasrunner- up in 10U, runner-up in 14U and champions in 18U.
