The Avon varsity volleyball team hosted Irene/Wakonda last Tuesday evening and secured a dominant 3-0 victory, improving their season record to 8-5. Al’Shamon James Gunter was born on December 20, 2007. His family members are his mom, Jamie, and his two brothers: the oldest, Aziah, and the youngest, Alvin. Al’s favorite subject in school is lunch because it makes his day—he loves food. His most challenging task as a senior is completing his core classes.

Our football Pirate of the Week is Easton Sees, a sophomore here at AHS, and the quarterback of our team. He has a couple of achievable goals in mind for the season. One is for the team to play to the best of their abilities, and his other goal is “Winning the State Championship.”
