Vert Virgil Voigt, son of E.O.F. and Katie (TerVeer) Voigt, was born September 12, 1928 on a farm near Avon. He passed away peacefully on May 25 at the age of 93 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall.

Sophomore McKenna Kocmich and Freshman Trevor Eggers recently competed in the Region Golf Meet at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell, Tuesday May 26th. Kocmich, who ended the regular season with a 9th place finish in the Avon/Bon Homme Varsity Invite at Springfield Golf Course, also finished in 9th place at the Region Meet to qualify for the SD Class B High School State Golf Tournament at Heart Ranch Golf Course in Rapid City. The State Tournament will be played on June 6th and 7th. Great job this season golfers and good luck at state McKenna!
