AVON TEENERS HIT THE FIELD LAST TUESDAY

Avon teeners opened their season hosting Freeman on Sunday May 22. Avon was held to four hits and three runs by experienced Freeman pitching, coming off of spring baseball. Leading hitters for Avon were Aziah Meyer and Trace Pelton with one hit each, Christian Doom hit a double and a single. John Fathke and Tyler Tjeerdsma each scored. Pitching for Avon were Landon Thury, Noah Watchorn, Devin Rucktaeschel, Christian Doom, and Tyler Tjeerdsma. Final score was 8-3 in favor of Freeman.

Funeral services for Jean Ann Crosby, 89, of Rapid City were held Friday, May 20 and at Peters Funeral Home in Wagner. Burial followed in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner.

Brian was born July 22, 1973 in Armour the son of Larry and Eileen Schmidt. He passed away May 11 2022 at his home in Norwalk, IA. He grew up on the family farm north of Ravinia. He attended school in Lake Andes and graduated in 1992. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.

Funeral services for Robert (Bob) William Breen, 93, of Wagner were held Tuesday, May 24 at Wagner Community Church in Wagner. Burial was in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner, with military honors. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
