This past week, Charles-Mix County was hit hard with constant rain to the tune of 8 – 12 inches. This caused many areas to flood, especially any area that was home to Choteau Creek. According to Charles-Mix County Emergency Management/Disaster Manager, Miko Kotab, area residents should still be cautious and avoid any roads along Choteau Creek as there is still running water over roads and flooded areas. North of Lake Andes between Geddes and Lake Andes there is also substantial flooding. As of today, June 24th, the Charles-Mix County highway department is currently out doing road assessments and will hopefully by the end of the week will start minor repairs. Miko and the county road crews will be working together to assess if there is enough damage for a disaster declaration. Please work with the county highway department, we are all in this together and they are doing their best to navigate the flooding the situation. Courtesy photos.
