PROM….IT DOESN'T HAPPEN OVERNIGHT!

As spring rolls around, so does Prom…and a lot of responsibilities for the junior class. The theme of this year's 2022 Prom is Unlock the Enchanted Night. It is March 26 with the junior and senior class banquet at 6:00 p.m., Grand March at 7:30 p.m., and the dance from 8:30-11:30 p.m.

Easter Cantata

The Bon Homme Community Choir is making final preparations for this years Easter Cantata. "Closer to the Cross" is the title for this years Easter Cantata. The choir once again is directed by Autumn Schultz. Closer to the Cross is an invitation to draw near to God and to experience, through worship, just what it took for Jesus to overcome death, hell and the grave. Contemporary music with familiar songs as we celebrate the Journey of Christ. This is the 83rd year of the Bon Homme Community Choir.

SOUTH DAKOTA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

Pierre, S.D.– The Stephanie Miller-Davis Library Summer Reading Grant Program has continued its fourth year supporting summer reading programs in small rural communities in partnership with the South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) and the South Dakota State Library (SDSL). The program has now distributed over $100,000 to libraries in rural communities across South Dakota.

AVON SCIENCE STUDENTS GO TO THE REGIONAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR

On March 22, Paul Kuhlman and Tamara Carns took their Science Fair qualifiers to the Regional Science and Engineering Fair in Brookings for the 67th Annual High Plains Regional Science and Engineering Fair (HPRSEF). It was held on the SDSU campus.

LAKE ANDES VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES GRANT FROM SOUTH DAKOTA SALUTES

The Lake Andes Volunteer Fire Department received a $5,000 grant recently from South Dakota Salutes; this gift was enhanced by gifts from the City of Pickstown, Andes State Bank, Nancy Gall, Ron and Stephanie Koupal, Juffer Inc., and Jeff Scherschligt, increasing the total grant to $9,900.
