VA PROPOSES CLOSURE OF WAGNER VA CLINIC

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs released its Asset and Infrastructure Review Report March 14, that includes recommendations by the VA Secretary. The VA MISSION Act requires Secretary McDonough to publish the AIR report in the Federal Register and submit it to Congress and a presidentially appointed AIR Commission. The AIR Commission will conduct public hearings as part of its review of VA’s recommendations before submitting its own recommendations to the president for further review in 2023.

WAGNER RESIDENT RUTH BOUZA TO OPEN MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY

On July 1st, 2021, under initiated measure 26, medical marijuana became legal in South Dakota and since then Ruth Bouza, of Wagner, has put in a lot of hours to see her new business plan come to fruition. Bouza is opening a medical marijuana dispensary in Wagner and the ground breaking ceremony took place recently on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

Greer Post #11 American Legion

American Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on March 17, 2022 at the Post home with 27 members in attendance. Commander Clayton Rados thanked the Legion Auxiliary for the wonderful meal and special cake commemorating the 103rd year of the American Legion. We welcomed two new members to our Post tonight, Brandon and Dacey Eggers. We also had four guests in attendance. Gary Wolkow, our State Commander from DeSmet, was introduced and gave a brief “Thank you”. Also, Hugh Holmes and his wife Linda from Mitchell were present. Hugh is running for the position of the Alternate to the National Executive Committee. Hugh gave a brief report. Also present was Doug Feltman from Chamberlain who is running for the State Commander. Doug thanked everyone and also gave a brief report. Commander Rados then called the members to attention. Chaplain Donald Kotab gave the invocation, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members. Commander Rados then called the meeting to order.
