Wagner girls’ golf team kicks off their season on Friday, April 19th with Gregory at the Gregory Golf Course starting at 10 a.m. This year’s team is coached by Riley Kirwan. Riley has been coaching golf at Wagner for the past 11 years with a combined 19 years total in coaching.

Read moreAfter graduating from Wagner Community School in 2023, Emma Yost decided to continue to play basketball at the college level for Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU). Emma concluded her senior year for the Red Raiders with a career 1,666 points, 1,271 rebounds, and a 53% field goal percentage. She helped lead the Raiders to two consecutive seasons with a 24-2 record and helped the team win runner up at the Girls Class A State Basketball Tournament in 2023.

Read moreThis year’s Red Raider girls’ basketball team had three seniors Aubrey Medricky, Macy Koupal and Aniyah Bruguier-Fields. The team ended their 2023-2024 season with a 19-4 win-loss record. The Raiders season ended when they came up short in the Region game against Mount Vernon Plankinton. Even though their season did not end as they had hoped, it was definitely a season to be proud of. The three seniors have some final thoughts on their final basketball season as a Red Raider.

Koupal is a 6’3” sophomore that plays the guard/forward position for the Red Raiders. She has been playing varsity for the Lady Raiders for the past four years, a part of the team as a seventh grader.

Read moreThe Andes Central/Dakota Christian girls’ and boys’ basketball seasons both came to end, unfortunately falling short of qualifying for the state tournament. The teams both fought hard in post-play. The Lady Thunder ended their season after advancing to the SoDak 16 where they played Ethan. The ladies played an incredible game only falling short three points to Ethan. The Thunder ended their season in post-season district play against Tripp-Delmont/Armour with a score of 38-54. Even though their seasons did not end the way they had hoped, the four seniors have some final thoughts on their final basketball season playing for the AC/DC Thunder. The four seniors are Neveah Morgan, Claire Johnson, Anaias White Eyes, and Peter Backes.
