ZENJO WOLFCHILD

Zenjo D’Arius Wolfchild, Hta chu sni win (The Cool of the Evening Dew Woman), 25, of Wagner, a member of the Chippewa-Cree Tribe of Rocky Boy, MT and the Yankton Sioux Tribe of South Dakota, passed away due to natural causes on July 1, 2023 in Sioux Falls. Her funeral service was held July 8 at the South Housing Gym in Wagner. Burial followed at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Marty. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Zenjo was born on May 30, 1998 in Yankton to Stacey Zephier and Henry Wolfchild Jr. She was raised in Rocky Boy, MT and Wagner and attended schools in both places, but graduated from South Central High School in Bismarck, ND. While in school she excelled in mathematics, loved playing volleyball, and was a cheerleader. Following her graduation she worked many places as a day laborer, housekeeper, and other various jobs.

Zenjo enjoyed beading, listening to music, and she loved animals and children which were naturally drawn to her. She loved doing her hair and makeup, hanging with all her family and friends; especially her special friend Keanu Archambeau and her cousin/buddy.BF Aiden Standing Cloud both from SD, and best friend John Wolf Chief from Rocky Boy, MT.

Zenjo is survived by her mother Stacey; her sisters Zavion Wolfchild, Zaysiah, Zonni, Livi, Orianthi Zephier, Mary Virginia Arachambeau and brother Hoye Wakan Yuhan all of South Dakota. She is also survived by her father Henry Wolfchild Jr, brothers, Quinn, Keegan, and sister Skylah Wolfchild of Rocky Boy, MT. Maternal grandmothers Tracey, Conceta, Brenda, and Jennifer Zephier all of SD. Paternal grandmother Mary Wolfchild of Rocky Boy, MT. She is also survived by many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews from SD and MT.

Zenjo is preceded in death by her Grandfather Alexander Zane Zephier, and her triplet nephews Mato Insane, Mato Gi and Mato Sada. Grandfather’s Henry Wolfchild Sr, Otto Cantrell Sr; grandmother’s Short Arms Wolfchild and Nida Kennedy Cantrell; uncle benny Wolfchild, and cousin Michelle R. Wolfchild Parker.

Pallbearers: Kordell Small of Rocky Boy, MT; Corey, Todd, Zane, Hank, Ashton, Gerald Zephier, and Aiden Standing Cloud, all of South Dakota.
