The 5th Annual Zachary Ty Johnson Legacy Golf Tournament was another tremendous success as 33 teams, totaling 132 golfers, gathered Saturday at the Bon Homme Golf Course to honor Zachary Ty Johnson’s memory while raising funds to continue the Legacy’s mission of giving back to the community.

There was plenty to see at the Avon Farmers Market held Wednesday, July15,at the Avon City Park. Vendors filled their tables with homemade baked goods, canned goods, fresh eggs, vegetables, handmade craft items, and a variety of other locally made and raised products.

The Wagner Rotary Club gathered for its regular Wednesday meeting on July 22. President Jeff Doom made his arm vibrate as he whacked the Rotary Bell to bring members to order. Rotary Grace was said and then a delicious roast beef meal by Valley Pump was enjoyed by all.

The community came together in a big way Friday evening during the Bake for a Claus bake sale benefit held at Pour Corner.

The Wagner High School Class of 1976 recently gathered to celebrate its 50th class reunion, combining the milestone occasion with the community's celebration of America's 250th birthday.

Community members gathered at the Dante Auditorium on Saturday, June 27, for an evening of entertainment, fellowship and community spirit as the City of Dante and the Dante Fire Department co-hosted a fundraiser in conjunction with Dante's America 250 celebration.

On Sunday, June 21 Kathleen Geiman was installed as the Department Membership Chairman during the Installation of Department Officers and District Presidents at the 105th Annual American Legion Auxiliary Department of South Dakota Convention.

Around 750 delegates of the South Dakota Republican Party met on June 25-June 27 at the Monument in Rapid City. Eleven delegates from Charles Mix County attended. The Republican Platform was reviewed and revised by the voting members, along with many Resolutions.

President Jamie Soukup breathed a little sigh of relief as he rang the Rotary Bell for the last time as President of our local club. President Jamie has done a wonderful job as President for the past 2025-2026 year guiding the membership through programs, events, and off-site projects.

Wednesday, June 17th found the Wagner Rotarians gathered for their second to last Rotary meeting of our 2025-2026 Rotary Year. The membership gave thanks for the food and fellowship followed by two verses of “Rotary” from the songbook.
