Game One: Avon 13 Mitchell Renegades 1Brielle Voigt drove in four runs on three hits to lead Avon past the Renegades 13-1 on Saturday. Voigt singled in the second scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, and singled in the third scoring one.

On Tuesday, July 21, the Wagner Post 11 Senior American Legion team traveled to Menno to take part in the Region 4B double elimination tournament.Platte-Geddes was our first opponent of the day.

The Avon 8U Baseball team spent Friday, July 10th through Sunday, July 12th in Humboldt playing baseball. They battled through extreme heat and showed so much heart and determination!After doing great in pool play they earned a spot in the Bravo Division. They were able to finish in 4th place!

The Wagner Waves Swim Team competed in the James River Valley League championship swim meet hosted in Platte on July15th and 16th along with teams from Armour, Avon, Chamberlain, Menno, O’Neill (NE), Parkston, Platte, and Tyndall.

On Friday, July 17, the Post 11 American Legion Juniors and Seniors took to the road for one last regular season doubleheader against Alexandria.Wagner’s pitching and defense were about as good as they could be in the Junior Legion game.

On Tuesday, July 14, Wagner’s American Legion Post 11 14U team traveled to Tyndall for Region 4B play to try and earn their way to the state tournament.The first game pitted us against Tyndall. We went 1-3 against them during the regular season and knew we’d have to play a good game to get a win.

On Tuesday, July 14, Wagner’s American Legion Post 11 Junior and Senior teams hosted Parkston.The Juniors got things off on the right foot as they came away with a 6-1 win. They started with three runs in the first inning. Trasin Dilts, Colton Zephier, and Jacob Kotab each had an RBI in the inning.

On Tuesday, July 7, Wagner’s Post 11 Junior and Senior American Legion teams traveled to Menno and were handed two losses by the Post 182 79ers of Scotland-Menno-Freeman-Canistota.In the first game Wagner was felled by a score of 13-3. Cale Cooper started on the mound and pitched just one inning.

On Monday, July 6, the Wagner Post 11 14U American Legion team played their first game since June 26 and it showed as they dropped their game to Parkston by a score of 12-11.Cooper Slaba started on the mound and went two innings.
